regarding pumps i've been a "pumper" off and on for several years and of all the advice i as an amature could offer the best would be to explore a very well put together pumpers sight (free of course) called: http://www.tigerpumping.com with detailed information for beginners, intermediate and experienced pumpers as well as detailed "how-to" for the pump curious. and yes over time the gains can be permanent.
