Once I had a slight vision impairment after selfing, where I'd have a flashing in my left eye on the periphery that took quite a while to go away. I think it may have been due to the pressure on my neck and the nerves, but I don't understand how you can put pressure on your eyes by doing this.

: Hi all,

: A warning about the upside down position. Being in this position dramatically increase the pressure inside the eye, so doing this for a long period, say an hour, and frequently (fx. daily) may damage the optical nerve. In other words you could get self inflicted glaucoma. There are cases of this described in the medical litterature. This was practitioners of yoga that had damaged optical nerves, but apparently normal pressure when examined. The damage happened during the regular practice of the head stand position.
