I've never thought about this before, but it does seem like AC would be inherently more difficult to do in a sustained manner. Once you've got your cock in your mouth, you can hold on to it with your mouth, to some extent, to help to keep it in place. Unless you're talking about someone with a huge clit, with AC, there's 'no there, there' to grab onto. Interesting!
