Chad Kroeger has revealed that he used to be able to perform a party trick with his genitals.

The Nickelback singer claimed that he once managed to get his own penis in his mouth in order to win a crate of beer as a teenager.

Kroeger told Playboy: "I put my own dick in my mouth. I was 14 and much more flexible at the time.

"It was soft and required a lot of pulling. I really wanted that case of beer."

The rocker also admitted that he was forced to sell drugs during his youth to make money while growing up in Hanna, Alberta.

He said: "I sold a little weed here, some mushrooms there. I had to subsidise the income somehow.

"I knew a lot of people who had weed, and a lot of people on the oil rigs needed weed. I could get it. That seemed like a no-brainer."

I Googled this and was amazed at how many sites with message boards are discussing this...and the opinion is overwhelmingly negative. While most of the posters say they hate Nickelback's music, it was alarming how hostile everyone is about the idea of sucking your own penis.

Is the perception that bad? Is that why we don't tell many people about our hobby? It seems everyone is extremely homophobic when autofellatio isn't even a homosexual act. It's mastubation. Most guys could be so lucky to be able to do this.

I wish like hell I could tell people I could do this but I know I'll get shit for it so I'll keep it to myself except on sites like this where I an use an alias.

And I'm used to hearing that Marilyn Manson got his ribs removed (untrue), that you'd never leave the house if you could do it, and why do dogs do it -- because they can. Apparently nobody can say anything original.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Nickelback happens to have a particularly rabid opposition (why people hate them in particular I don't understand), and it's not surprising that people will attack Kroeger for something they can classify as weird, perverted, or over-the-top. Especially on the internet, where people don't have to deal with direct consequences of statements and can post in a few seconds without thinking about it. Now, granted, there are people who are homophobic or a few that just have inhibitions about oral in general. But I don't think they make up a terrible majority. Actually, I don't think that there /is/ a very widespread or mainstream take on autofellatio because I don't think many people talk about it very much. Hence the cliches.

And when you get down to it, I think most people still realize that sex alone is a different psychological phenomenon than sex with someone else. The only thing that really stresses people by something unusual is that if they haven't thought about it they are going by gut instinct. What you end up thinking about something is not the same as what you think when you first here of it, and maybe you picture it for the first time. If someone hasn't thought about autofellatio much, and the image of a not-particularly-well-liked singer doing it springs to mind, it might temporarily color your view.

I think these jokes actually are good in general, even if they are unoriginal, because a) they make people think about it for a moment, so they end up less shocked by it the more they think (shock generally being negative), and b) whoever makes one of these jokes is implicitly endorsing it. Like "hell, I'd do that if I could". Which may be trying when you hear it for the 10000th time, but it's the opposite of hostile.

I don't know what's going on with the board and line breaks. If you preview your message before posting the line breaks are intact. Once you post, they disappear. Maybe Al installed an update that broke this. Open source software tends to be buggy at time. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do about it.

In regards to the topic, I just wonder if someone who is generally liked (who can you think of generally gets his ass kissed by everybody?) says he can suck himself, how will people take that? It seems celebrities can get away with a lot of bad stuff (drunk driving, drug use, having sex with minors, etc.) and for the most part people look the other way. However, do something as harmless as selfsucking and you're crucified. I just don't get it.
