Nearly a year after my first taste I'm able to do it again. And I was able to go for longer and get more than just a small taste this time.
After the last time I didn't get the time to try again because life happens. But I've started stretching again since September-October and I'm finally there again. I still have to really pull on my foreskin to get it to my tongue. I could actually give it a good lick this time and even go back for seconds. I wish I could enjoy it for longer but it makes me want to come right away.

I've been measuring my progress with a pen in my mouth. It's shorter than my hard cock so that should mean if I'm able to touch the base of my dick with it then my dick should be able to reach my mouth. But when I get hard and try it, I'm no where near what the pen suggests. What gives?

I'm not totally clear on what you're saying about the pen, but my guess is that the pen might be at a different angle than your hard cock. Working on where the curve in your back is can help with that, and my experience is that that's usually easiest in the plow position.

I figured that getting the curve of the back right is important but I'm not really sure what the right curve is. Could you explain it? I've just been trying to keep my head as close to my stomach as I can (instead of just trying to get it down to my thighs as I was doing at first).

The pen is basically a ruler that I use to measure my progress without having to keep an erection the whole time.
My train of thought is that if the pen is the same length as my erect penis, then being able to hold it in my mouth and touch the base of my penis with it means I can at least lick the head. I've been doing it in a seated C position.

So far I've been working on touching the pen to the base of my penis with the pen in my mouth. The pen is getting closer to the base but when I try with an erection if seems like I haven't made much progress. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not.

It's hard to generalize, because every man's body is different. I think it's probably true for all of us that having your chin jammed against the top of your ribcage is NOT going to get you the most depth: you're putting most of your curve in your upper back and that's not what you need.
If you look at pictures and videos of men who are getting good depth I think you'll see most of them are distributing the curve fairly evenly through the upper and mid spine.
If you think of the body as a kind of mechanical model and then think of what kind of curve is going to bring the cock into place as directly above the mouth as possible maybe that'll help?
I think the plow allows you to play with that curve more than other positions, but I know other guys prefer other approaches.
