I have been reading this forum avidly for the last month and have tried all of the techniques listed (excpt for the ball stretcher) and have managed at one point to get my head in affter much work.

My cock head reaches my hole but doesn't go much past it (even in the riding position) so I just wanted to ask, will it be physically possible for me to self fuck? I have got it in in the past (to a point) but had to really make my hole very loose. I'm just 5.25 inches and am aware that another guy on here can manage it with this length so I keep trying.

I imagine my best bet is to jelq so i can get a longer flacid cock and go about it that way?

When I'm soft, I can rest my glans (head) just over my hole. And that requires a pretty good stretch. We all have days when we are bigger or smaller, thicker or thinner, longer or shorter, than what we perceive as normal. One of things I've discovered is that if I play with my ass while squatting in the shower, my cock gets a fair amount of girth (thickness) while staying short and soft. This makes self-penetration impossible. Can't reach and doesn't like to be bent over. The answer to your question is based on how bad do you want this? Four years ago, I was doing this every other night. Two years ago I pretty much stopped doing it on any regular basis.
