: I tried the "plough position" for a couple days and am wondering if it's safe or not to do a little daily. My neck and back are fairly sore, and I have to say I have my concerns... Thanks. (Note that I can't do this - I thought maybe with lots of practice I could someday.)

Hey Shaun - I am sore this very moment from trying the plough position over the last few days. I have been a self-er for nearly 30 years; the soreness only started in the last five years or so, and I think that it is probably more a function of my general lack of activity than age (I'm 42) that causes the soreness. I had 25 years of safe ss-ing in the position. I did hurt my back about a year ago using a vertical plough position, but I was not warmed-up and I was pushing way too hard. As long as you are not injured while actually in the plough position (which is certainly possible), I think using the position is safe. Certainly anyone who has ever worked out and felt sore the next day would not question the safety of his activity.
