Private messages not being delivered

It seems that half the time when I try to send a private message it gets stuck in my outbox and never gets delivered. This has been happening for some time. I know I am a moderator, but I am not an administrator, and I can't figured out what's going on. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey yes, I guess I've been having this problem! Sent out private message through out the years and never got a response. Messaged Al a month ago and didn't hear back, and I know he responds all the time in the forum. Do you know if private messages are supposed to go to personal emails, or the only generate on the website.

Maybe remove the PM option, and have inbox option or have them go to email? Don't know but thanks glad you figured out there was a problem

So Al, what can we do about this? It's really annoying not being able to send or reply to private messages.

Hey guys,

Sorry about the problems. I'm pretty half-assed with this stuff once it gets past the rudiments - I checked the error logs and don't see anything that looks related, and I'm not sure what else to do.

Is this something that happens with every message? I know that when my inbox is full it won't accept messages - could it be that you're sending to guys with full inboxes?

More details will be helpful,and if anyone is more versed in these matters I'm very open to any help you can offer!

According to phpBBs knowledge base articles, this is standard behaviour. It stays in your outbox until the receiver actually reads it then it moves to your sent box.. .this gives the sender the chance to modify or edit the original text since it has not yet been read. Black, I've just sent you a test message now to test this out. It's like 1:17am where I am (EST).

Ok, weird. I didn't know it worked that way. I have messages still in my outbox from 2009.
