Advice please guys

Hi guys

I have been working at SS'ing for about a year now and have made some progress but seem to have hit a bit of a brickwall... I can just about get half the head in on a good day and am wondering if I am doing anything wrong or could do something to improve my technique..

I normally leave about 3-4 days between sessions, have a soak in the bath and warm up for about an hour then start going into deeper stretches taking things easy, I have been favouring the X position mostly.

Do stretching, or yoga every day, not just when selfing. Pay particular attention to hamstrings, backward bending and breathing techniques. Try different exercises; mix them up to keep your routine interesting. Try other positions. Check out the archives to see who else has asked the same question and read the responces.

Hard to get much info from it though, if you're looking for tips.
As I've said before - I've never liked the X position for myself - I find it very limiting. It looks like doing the X in the position that you're in in the photo would require you to use nothing but muscle strength - no gravity assist at all. THe nice thing about the plow position is that you're putting a relatively heavy section of your body up in the air so you get a gravity assist along with whatever muscular action you're putting into it - this can be a real help with getting yourself stretched out.

I never thought about the gravity assist thing before, I tend to find that the bottom of my ribcage gets bruised when doing the plough for some reason....

I have to admit its hard finding the motivation to do daily excercises, I put a lot of effort into selfing sessions, but guess sexual motivation is a strong force lol.. I did buy a yoga DVD but have never really got into it... Sounds like to really progress I will have to reevaluate that...

All that said I had to have a biopsy on my neck yesterday at the hospital so have stitches in so that will put paid to any session for at least 2 weeks.. My back is having a holiday hurrah! lol

I am at roughly the same stage. The best I can do is a little past the head. But I cannot seem to get any more. I wonder if I have peaked?

Orgbob, you probably haven't peaked. I brickwall occasionally as well, and after a long time of not getting more than the head in my mouth, started doing sun salutation every day, as well as some other moves. I still can't do the X, though wish I could, just as variation (seeing others do it looks damn hot). After I warm up, I sometimes use the mattress to help "sandwich" myself into the C, and before I know it, I can lick my balls and around the base of my dick. I then have pretty much free reign on doing the C and the plow, sucking half my cock. If I stay under the mattress, I've sucked the entire length, but it's quite a workout, and my back is usually sore for it --just be careful with the mattress thing. And do some yoga moves every day, eat right too!

could you give more specific details about using the mattress to get more depth. im 24yrs / 6ft1in / 175lbs / 6.5 cock and have been able to lick the entire head for several months now. i have the most success when using the bottoms up method on my bed and use the wall to help. i have tried a number of different angles and am pretty good about practicing the stretches. i do not think i have reached my full potential and am ready to actually suck on myself.

Funny thing, after I posted this I had a session and went probably as far as I have ever gone. Maybe I have not peaked. I do feel like I can go quite a bit further.

I never push myself very hard, and I don't plan on it. The good thing is I am NEVER sore after a session.

I think my biggest gains will come from losing a little weight. I have some belly fat and it seems to get in the way of even greater success. 8)

The night before I went into hospital last week I just had to have another go... I doubt you've peaked...

There is a plateau you will likely reach that is hard as hell to break through. You have to dedicate yourself to doing yoga everyday(take things slow). You've reached a point where pushing too hard will only injure and delay your progress.

Do half an hour of light yoga every day and an hour of heavy yoga every third day. This, along with PNF stretching(I know, I'm an advocate for this style of stretching) is how I broke through my plateau.

It certainly makes some sense, but my (limited) experience has been that most of the weight is not really in the air (and thus assistive) but actually rests on the toes/knees. I think the only way this could be helped is by contracting the ass and lifting the legs so they don't rest on the floor/mattress at all. However, obviously, this would mean a lot of prolonged muscular exertion and respiratory stress etc. and would require a high degree of control in order to ensure gravity is used only to provide help and not allowed to cause injury.

Now that I think of it, an alternative would be to do the plow on the edge of a bed or some surface higher than the floor, so that your toes/knees don't have anything to rest on at the same height as your back, but only lower. Sort of like this:

Of course, this still allows gravity to offer "a little too much help" and requires very good control for you to be able to ease yourself out of that position at the first sign of trouble.

Hey ASP,
I think you'll be surprised how much the weight of your legs and lower trunk can contribute if you know how to use it. I almost never self with my feet or knees on the ground; I find that I'm fighting against myself in those positions and I'm more likely to end up relying on arm strength to pull my cock toward my mouth.
Finding a place where I can get into plow and then hook my feet under a ledge or something similar that's a foot or more above the surface I'm on is the ideal. Having something to push against with my feet/legs allows my to engage my whole body in the process, and allows the weight of my lower body to contribute.
That's what works for me. I don't have any pictures that show it clearly, but if you have any of my videos or watch them on my video-on-demand theater you'll see what I'm talking about.

P.S. I would approach the position you're talking about with EXTREME caution - you could really, really hurt yourself in that one if you lost your balance!

Well, I got around to trying it and I failed again because of other barriers that don't have to do with what my feet are resting on. I'm giving this one up, because:
- all my weight presses on just a few vertebrae, which locks my neck into position and robs me of the freedom to extend my mouth toward my dick "properly";
- I put all the soft materials I had handy under those vertebrae, but they still got abused and right now they hurt if I put my finger on them (what's needed is a thick mattress and I don't have one).

I went back to my favourite [knees partially bent, legs slightly apart, standing, ass-hugging] position and got a new record, for all my effort: I got the whole glans in my mouth for the first time, if only for a second. :)

I guess I've done all I could to find the best position for me and now it's only a matter of improving my flexibility - it'll take time and persistence.
