To save almost any clip open it and let it fully load. Then go to your Temporary Internet files. Mine is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"
View details and then make sure the most recent is at the top (lick on "last access". Look down the list for the first XXXXXX.flv file. Right click and then copy the file.
Open a new explorer window and paste the copied file in one of your porn files.
This works great on Xtube and many other locations for me.

You can also do it in Firefox on a Mac if you don't mind a little bit of work - after you watch a clip you like you put about:cache into the address bar of Firefox (the space at the top that usually says http://www. etc), click on "List Cache Entries" link and find the .flv file in the list that comes up and click that link, then click the link that comes up and it should download for you.
It works for me!

Oops - just heard about this even easier Firefox method:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006
it puts a link right in your toolbar. Cool!

I just got a new computer with Windows Vista and for whatever reason, when I go into the temporary internet files directory, the most recent items are several minutes old and there are no .flv files to be seen. This means I can no longer save videos from XTube. What's going on here?Harveyz wrote:To save almost any clip open it and let it fully load. Then go to your Temporary Internet files. Hmm, still no luck - and I agree, I am not able to DL them from my temp internet files. I'm at a loss
I have found 'Tube Hunter' at http://www.neoretix.com/ but it costs money. Anyone bought it/used it?
Thanks

If you're not using the Firefox browser you should give it a try - you can add "extensions" to the browser and the one called Downloadhelper makes it incredibly easy to get the .flv files
Elrond - they play just fine in Quicktime player for me - did you try that? They should also play in VLC player, and there's a free app called flv_viewer you should be able to find easily that will also play'em. Let me know if you have problems getting them to play.

How to access downloaded FLV files on Windows Vista
Hey guys, I found out how to access the .flv files in the Temporary Internet Files on a Windows Vista computer.
The files are kept in a hidden subfolder. Go to the Control Panel under Folder Options, select the "View" tab and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)". This will make the folders visible. (Note that once they're visible, you can't unhide them while this option is unchecked because you aren't allowed to).
Go here:
C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME HERE}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5
There will be several folders here. The ones that are "ghosted" (lighter color) are these hidden folders. They'll be named what appears to be a bunch of random numbers and letters. Inside will be all your missing Temporary Internet Files.
The problem now is identifying which folder contains the file you are looking for. In my case, I was trying to get the downloaded XTube .flv video files (which isn't available for direct download). Apparently Windows Vista decides which folder to store these files in so you'll have to search for .FLV files with the "date last accessed" closest to the time you viewed the video in the browser. Switch to details view and then you'll have to tell it to show the "date last accessed" column, and it would probably be useful to show the "type" column too (neither were shown by default) so you can sort by file type. Identify the file by date and copy them to another location (desktop, etc.). You'll want to do this sort because there may hundreds or thousands of files in each folder and the FLV files don't have a preview thumbnail image like MPG, AVI, or WMV files do.
This is all a pain, considering I didn't have to go all through this with Windows XP. I don't know why Microsoft did this, but I have to live with it because going back to XP isn't an option for me.
If anyone has an easier solution for this, please let us know. It took me nearly an hour to get the files for all the bookmarked videos I had found since I upgraded.

Firefox is available for Windows (and Linux) - get it and install the downloadhelper and it's all right there in your toolbar. Easy!

Xp sucks, and vista is worse
I'm still using my old copy of 2000Pro
Do it with pride or don't bother doing it!
