damage to spine?
I just read one of my reply's, and Im concerned about my spine. We only have one, and we can never replace it.
Is SS'ing once a week is worse for your spine, than SS'ing 3 times a week? Ive been SS'ing once a week for the last 4 years. I believe I read somewhere once, about the 3 times a week thing ( or just stretching) is better. However I fiqured the spine needs alot of rest. So what does the SS community think about this?

Good question...and I think a concern of all ssers.
I would first say if Al hasn't experienced trouble in 25 years or so, that should make all of us feel better.
Second, I would say we are all different...there are daily ssers and those more infrequent like yourself.
And most importantly, like there are suggestions everywhere here, stretching is good....like a car...you don't want to leave it in the garage all week then take it up to 100 mph all at once. Going slow to warm up is important. Stretching easy at first will help, and especially counter stretching....back bends which open up the spine as opposed to the compression from selfsucking is always a good thing.

As I say in the how-to section of this Website; selfsucking is like any other extreme sport - there are dangers that go along with the rewards.
Every man's body is different, so it's hard to generalize, but in general I'd say that you're better off stretching at least 3 or 4 times a week. If you're happy sucking yourself once a week then just do that but also stretch 3 or 4 times - stretching without sucking yourself is great because you're not so tempted to push yourself too hard.
Listen to your body! If it hurts in a way that doesn't feel like the normal stretching out of muscles then it's time to stop.
Do backwards bending! I know it isn't as much fun, but it's good for your spine.
Find a really good yoga teacher - once again, I recommend Iyengar style yoga because it's more focused on perfecting each individual pose than most other styles.
Be careful and have fun!

In my particular case I've added a minimum of 1 hour/week of yoga to balance my spine into different directions (specially backbends), in order to readjust my spine discs and gain additional spine flexibility when ssing. It is not good fun to do that but it helps a lot.
Yoga is a healthful workout means to be combined with selfsuck. BTW I keep a mouth-cock contact everyday.
