If one of the big studios could produce one then the awareness of it would increase substantially, and if it was depicted in a scene with a woman, then it would be accepted by a lot more people, as it would be difficult to classify it as gay sex when there's only one guy and a woman involved.

I think a lot of guys would be interested in seeing it depicted but don't feel comfortable viewing gay porn to see this. As a result, many who are interested may never get to see it, which is a shame. Here's my two cents on this:

I am gay. Not too grossed out by straight sex but it does Absolutely Nothing for me.

A note on Shortbus:

I loved this movie for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the idea of a SelfSuck scene in a mainstream film (by the amazing John Cameron Mitchell). I accept that the character who we see selfsuck, James, was in a really bad and sad place in his life and that that wasn't necessarily a comment on the act but the character.
